1995 SAAB 9000 CDE review from North America
"Top-notch luxury sedan that is a great value secondhand purchase"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to replace alternator which proved to be a chore due to it's placement deep within the bowels of the engine cavity. Thankfully I have a good mechanic who works cheap otherwise it could have been costly.
On-board computer LCD display has frozen and is unreadable. Only ever used it for the clock so not a big deal.
Otherwise no problems. A very well-built, dependable luxury car.
General comments?
This is my third Saab so I admit a slight bias, however there must be something that keeps me coming back.
These cars are a wonderful alternative to a BMW or Mercedes, perhaps lacking the cachet, but thoroughly equal in most other regards.
The car is very well-built with top quality materials including real burled walnut and wonderful Bridge of Weir leather upholstery that ages beautifully.
Safety features are second to none. I feel safer in my Saab than any other car I have driven.
My Saab drives and handles beautifully. Smooth, quiet power makes for great drives on winding mountain roads.
Handles like it's on rails. An extremely stable, poised automobile.
Just make sure you properly maintain this temperamental beauty otherwise it could cost you.
