2015 Skoda Superb S DSG 2.0 diesel from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Just excellent!

Faults:

Nothing. If I am being really picky - there are some cosmetic marks here and there, but it is nine years old now. Also the A/C is a bit weak now.

At this age and mileage these cars should have full oil change history and any belts needed changed done. Do not buy a car with missing history.

General Comments:

A huge car for the money - the Superb is as good as it gets in the large family/executive class. Usually the Superb is overpriced, but I got a good deal on this one.

Very basic "S" model, but still has plenty of electric features and very comfortable interior. The car is smooth and quiet, love long journeys in it.

2.0 diesel even with the DSG semi auto box has plenty of punch and still manages 45 - 50 mpg. Cannot argue with that. Fine to drive.

Looks great in black metallic. Nice alloy wheels.

A looked after one is the perfect all round car really. Bigger and better than the Octavia with virtually identical running costs, the Superb is well worth a look.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Sounds like it’s held up well. If the worst thing is the AC in a relatively cool climate in the UK, that’s not too bad. Not the same as the AC failing in Dubai or Cairo or something. Nice job keeping it well maintained.

Get on to that aircon as soon as possible, while it is still blowing some cold air. The refrigerant also helps lubricate the compressor. If it runs out, it can damage the compressor, that will be a very expensive fix. The aircon compressor of EU cars would run that new type of refrigerant which is better for the environment, but I've read is more likely to leak out of the system, and is much more expensive.
