2005 SsangYong Stavic Rear wheel drive 2.7 turbo diesel from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Very solid car, when you know how to drive it

Faults:

. Engine de-rates intermittently when under pressure.

. It may lock you out. Always carry a spare key on you.

. Very poor rear main seal... needs replacing too often.

General Comments:

I have used the car as a taxi since buying it new in 2005. Despite those things that have gone wrong, I will be replacing it with another. It beats its competition on price, engine reliability, interior seven seater layout, and 'luggage' space.

I think I've only seen one of these that wasn't a taxi (in Brisbane). Despite it having a face that only a mother could love, you seem to have had a good run with yours!

Hey sir, have you really done 870.000 km with that vehicle? If so, I'm buying one right now. I'm currently looking for a comfy, reliable and spacious vehicle to carry people all through Europe...

2005 SsangYong Stavic SV270 2.7L turbo diesel from Malaysia

Summary:

Powerful yet very practical

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Very spacious and practical. Carrying 7 adults with luggage is not a problem.

Powerful and a lot of torque!

I get 9km per liter of diesel for mixed driving. I think I can improve the figure further!
