2004 Subaru Outback H6- 3.0 35th Aniversary 3.0 Flat Six from North America

Summary:

Fun to drive, easy to own

Faults:

No problems as of yet.

Occasionally smell what appears to be Antifreeze, but no leaks, etc. Must be some coating used in shipping.

General Comments:

Car is fun to drive, has decent interior space, and does well in bad weather.

Wish gas mileage was a bit better. At under 5000 miles, just took trip and averaged 27.5 with speeds ranging from 70-80 mph. $-wheel drive exerts gas mileage penalty, and does not seem to coast as easily as my previous Buick Roadmaster wagon.

City mileage commute is averaging 20mpg with AC on. My old buick roadmaster with a 5.7 v8 used to get 18-19mpg in city and 25-27mpg on highway for a much bigger car.

Overall, is a fun car to drive and is easy to park.

I have no idea on buying an Outback or not. Who can show me the status of the Outback in China? Thanks...

Now many Subarus are sold in China. You can go www.xcar.com.cn to find a Subaru forum, and there are lots of comments on Subaru cars.

I plan to have an Outback H6 some time next year (2006). I like the car, and have tested it once around the 5th ring road of Beijing, and at 140 it just felt like 100!

2004 Subaru Outback LL Bean H6 3.0L from North America

Summary:

Luxury, comfort, styling, and AWD at a Subaru price

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Great Car! I have owned Subarus in the past. My first was a 1984 GL Wagon, then two 1986 GL Wagons. Subaru has come a long way with luxury, power, and comfort. But, the pleasent surprise is that you still have the feel of a Subaru.

The H6 engine has plenty of power. The seats are extremely comfortable (I have two ruptured discs in my back, and the seats feel great).

The only two things I would change are: More adjustment on the steering wheel (telescoping) and illuminated controls on the door.
