Faults:

The steering column makes some noise when turning.

Wear on sway bar links and bushings when driving over potholes.

Minor faults in ABS and stability control sensors.

The paint coating scratches easily.

Accumulation of moisture or condensation inside the headlights.

General Comments:

As this is the final facelift for the Avensis, it retains all the strengths of the previous styling; the most notable changes are at the front, featuring a new, smaller upper grille, highlighted by the new Toyota emblem, and a new chrome bar that incorporates the new LED headlight clusters.

The interior is excellent, featuring Alcantara upholstery in terracotta and light gray tones. Details that enhance the tactile feel and visual appeal include satin chrome accents on the dashboard, steering wheel, center console buttons, air vents, and gear shift lever. The seats are extremely comfortable and well-suited for long-distance driving. Sound insulation is superb; taking a long trip in this car is truly a pleasure.

It retains the front MacPherson strut and rear double-wishbone suspension, although these have been redesigned to enhance both ride comfort and handling. The front suspension features a new bearing and top mount, reduced flexibility, increased spring load compensation, and adjusted damping force.

Steering response and sensitivity are outstanding, thanks to the installation of a new intermediate shaft, a change in anti-roll bar diameter, and increased body rigidity achieved by using high-strength urethane to secure the windshield.

Since I’ve owned the car, it has given me practically no trouble at all—needless to say, it’s a true Toyota. It’s solid, has great mechanics, and is very economical, too. With proper care, it’ll last for a very long time. When I buy my next car, it will undoubtedly be another Toyota.

Faults:

Not much, just some wear and tear parts replaced, the car is older now, with higher miles, but seems reliable. Full history, every service has been done since 2015.

General Comments:

Excel Avensis - top of range. Every extra. Leather seats. Super comfortable car.

2.0 diesel engine is a bit noisy, but powerful and economical (50 mpg +). I like driving this car. Actually nicer to drive than my old 2009 Audi A4. And that is saying quite something.

Much better looking in dark colors, mine is dark grey. Lovely alloy wheels. Window tints. The lot, top spec. Black leather interior. Easy to keep clean.

Plenty of space and comfort. Reasonable insurance and running costs. Considering its age and miles, it was a bit expensive to buy on the used market however, but worth it for a good one. I have no regrets so far.

Difficult to say much more than has already been said about this car in other reviews here. The Avensis is just the perfect no nonsense car, and reliable if cared for. I hope to keep mine for many years despite being over a decade old and getting high on the miles, but these cars are built for it.

General Comments:

Comfortable, spacious, reliable, the Avensis does what it is famous for.

I have had this car two years with no major issues. It's a good car to drive and easy to own.

2015 Business Edition has all modern features and still feels fresh even in 2024.

1.8 petrol engine with automatic transmission provides a decent balance of power and economy.

Now here is my only gripe with this car - it is ugly. That front grille update design is horrid. I much preferred the 2010 - 2013 Avensis design, I believe it was a slightly updated version. But this 2015 car... my God what have they done! Still, it looks OK from the back and sides so I can live with it. I came from driving a Vauxhall Insignia, which is a very nice looking car. Heck even the Ford Mondeo of the same generation is better looking than this!

So if you can live with the odd looks, the Avensis is otherwise one of the best cars in its class.
