1968 Triumph Mk1 PI Saloon 2.5 from Australia and New Zealand
Summary:
Very rare, very fast and a complete bargain - if you can find one!!
Faults:
Everything apart from the motor, gearbox, diff and suspension!!!
General Comments:
When I got the old thing it was in need of a major restoration.
Rust had eaten the sills, guards, valance, door skins, left front floor and quite a few other panels. It's taken 9 months to get it to where it is now and there's still a load of work to do, but I've got a Warrant Of Fitness (WOF) for it now so I've been driving it around with 6 different paint colours, and it's going really well. At the moment the motor and gearbox are out and I'm painting the engine bay.
The sound of the straight-6 is great, helped by a 2.5 inch exhaust pipe. And with the overdrive it's even better!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
