2012 Vauxhall Corsa SE 1.2 16v petrol from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Smart run about for the cash
Faults:
Not much while I have had the car over the last year, used car dealer repaired a small coolant leak upon purchase under warranty, cannot say fairer than that considering I paid very little for the car and it has no other issues.
As with any car, always buy a car with full history. Avoid rough ones - there are loads of accident damaged and abused Corsas on the market (especially of this age now), so shop around for a nice one. The old saying in used cars - "Do not buy the first one you see" very much applies here!
General Comments:
Paid less than £1000 for this Corsa last year. Cheap motoring at its best. Long MOT no advisory.
Ideal run around, comfortable, so far reliable and cheap to run. Doing a solid 40 mpg +. Low insurance.
SE model - silver, alloys, OK looking.
Handles like a go kart, kinda fun to drive, shame the 1.2 engine is a bit weak on power, but that is expected.
Surprisingly spacious for a small car, I regularly carry a few friends and their luggage with no problem.
Feels pretty modern despite being well over a decade old.
I totally understand why it's popular as a first car or basic transport for anyone, the Corsa is a great all rounder.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Front and rear sub frame rust is a common issues on most modern cars now. At 10 + years old, it's anyone's guess how long it may last. Usually they can be fixed by welding. But sometimes not at all - we just retired a 2009 Toyota Avensis taxi as it failed MOT due to bad rust and the whole sub frame would have to be replaced. Simply not worth it, too expensive for an older car. Shame as the rest of the car was fine. So certainly not an issue exclusive to Vauxhall from this time, but the Corsa is such a popular car you will hear about a lot of Corsa's from this time needing a new sub frame by now.
