Faults:

Engine management light comes on intermittently - will have it looked at soon, cannot be anything serious, the car is driving OK.

Paint seems poor quality, already staring to flake off here and there, but it did have a hard life to begin with as a taxi.

General Comments:

Got a good deal on this first for 2017 newer shape "Grand Sport" Insignia when it was only five years old as an ex taxi with higher miles, fantastic value. The car feels very modern.

Design Nav is a fairly basic trim level, but the car still has all the modern electronics you could want.

Seats are VERY comfortable! This car is an ergonomic dream for me, even more comfortable than my old Honda Accord.

A joy to drive, not exciting but an excellent motorway cruiser, for which this car was designed. The 1.6 diesel is not the fastest, but it will regularly do over 50 mpg, which for this size of car is excellent.

Looks nice in black. Recommended if you need a cheap family / executive car. Easily the best on the market at the price. Though I got lucky - a lot of these cars with higher miles now will need expensive repairs, try and go for a low mileage example with full history, worth the extra cash, they are as cheap as it gets anyway.

Turbo, DPF, oil leak.

General Comments:

I like this Insignia, but it has had heavy use as a taxi the past few years.

Very smooth to drive with the automatic box, still has good performance and managing around 45 mpg on diesel.

Elite model has the lot - leather and all modern electronic features. Spacious inside, but not as noise suppressed as you might think - quiet on motorways, but actually a bit too noisy around town at lower speeds. Luggage area is massive.

Great looking car, this is the first of the new Insignia "B" models for 2017. Diamond cut alloys are very nice.

Not the best in its class, and has all the same problems of the old Insignia, but it is a very good car and value for money is the best in this range. If you need a cheaper priced large family/executive car, take a look at these.

Faults:

Bought it used, and I have had the car two years, put over 20K on it and nothing has gone wrong.

General Comments:

The newer Insignia is a fine car to look at from all angles. My Elite model is black with original alloy wheels and looks great, rear windows tinted. Never looks out of place even in an executive car park with BMW's and Mercedes next to it. Forget what the badge snobs say, this is a great car.

1.6 diesel is OK, performance is not the best but good enough for daily driving. You will get around 60 mpg taking it easy. I've heard the bigger diesel engine is better, similar economy and better performance. Even the smaller turbo charged 1.5 petrol engine is good while doing 50 mpg apparently. It seems as though just about any engine choice will suit most people who want a good daily driving experience, as well as economy.

Elite model has comfortable leather and electric everything. I love being in this car. Interior is smooth on the move and quiet enough for me. The car has all the modern features for phone pairing you would expect. Heated seats are great! Some people complain about the electronic button for a brake. I dislike it also, but really no big deal when you get used to it.

The car drives very well. I must admit I test drove a few cars before this, and they all drove a little better, including the more modern Ford Mondeo. But the Insignia was not far off. And was much cheaper to buy.

Overall the car is great value for money as a used buy. This newer generation Insignia from 2017 onwards is coming down in price also, it is amazing the quality and modernness from this car you can get for the money.
