2015 Vauxhall Mokka Tech Line 2WD 1.6 CDTi from UK and Ireland
Summary:
My worst car
Faults:
Where to start? Everything has gone wrong. Oil and coolant leaks. Blown gaskets. Clutch/flywheel/turbo.
EML light always on. Timing rattle on start up.
Constant problems with sticking brakes, pedal box as well isn't sitting right.
Suspension issues and wheel alignment causing uneven tyre wear even after wheel alignment checked by two dealers.
Alternator failed, left me stranded dangerously at the side of the road.
The list goes on, it's too depressing to think about.
General Comments:
Bought as I needed a modern family vehicle.
But the worst decision I ever made regards a car, thinking it cannot be this bad and I cannot be this unlucky.
The poor reliability issues aside, it isn't even that good a car. Firm ride, cramped rear space for passengers, dull to drive, slow.
On the plus side, when it runs right, it did do a genuine 55 - 60 mpg, insurance was cheap as well. And it was cheap to buy.
But what's the point if the car is in the garage getting repaired all the time, and any money you saved elsewhere just gets spent on repairs?
It's 11 years old now and over 100K miles, I guess it's only good for scrap. Just like my old Ford Kuga when it was the same age. This Vauxhall Mokka has been just as bad. Avoid pretentious SUV/Crossover type vehicles from the early 2010's, they are full of tech and engines that are just too complex and expensive to fix nowadays.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

You're right about Daewoo in general, though I don't think they had anything to do with Vauxhall after the 1990's. This 2015/16 reviewed car here was a newer vehicle developed as an all new cross over.
Either way, it wasn't the best as the reviewer suggests. A lot of these cars are bought by people who just want modern economical family transport, but the problem with modern diesels is you need to do high mileage to get the benefits from them, and keep emissions systems happy like EGR valves and DPF in your exhaust, which can only be kept healthy by super long journeys. Short journeys really kill these components and end up showing a lot of problems like the review car had.

I believe these were engineered by Daewoo and salvaged by GM once Daewoo went bust and sold to the customers as Chevrolet, Buick, Opel and Vauxhall.
And of all the GM brands, Daewoo was simply the worst one of them all. Crap quality, hideous safety record and unprofitable. Daewoo was the Lada of the GM group.
