No spare tyre.
Door mirror missing.
Clutch burnt out.
Expansion tank light staying on.
Dash centre missing.
Can you believe I was the only bidder on my 1995 M reg Senator at the West Oxford Police auctions, at £800 I think I stole it.
I transported it home, got a genuine clutch for £60 and fitted it. The car had just been serviced by Surrey Police but had blown the clutch on a road test after 1 mile! So I had no service work to carry out. Put it through an MOT and only failed on 1 front bush and no washers, all rectified for £35. Replaced the spare tyre, mirror and dash centre from a scrap yard for £30 so I had a M reg Senator with a years MOT and tax for under a grand. I must give credit to the Surrey lads as it is mint condition with no dents or scratches, and is even fitted with a unused tow bar.
This is my second ex Police Senator, and my ninth overall, I still have 3 older models being... 1985 2.5 Opel in gold, 1986 3.0 CDi in silver, and a 1987 3.0 CDi in white.
Note, the M reg came with a full service print out.
I tried to buy that very car over the phone as I couldn't get to the auction for the sale. It has bugged me that I missed it 'til 2 weeks ago I bought a 95M from Blackbushe direct from Sussex police for a grand, done 142K.
Lovely car, the only fault being a slight whine on the diff. It's nice to catch them straight from Police service, there can't be many left (any ideas which forces still have any?).
Regards.
If your light stays on for the expansion tank it's just simply the plunger inside the tank has got stuck either disconect the two wires from the top of the tank or get another plunger from a scrappy.
Awesome Car. I am very Jealous, to feel that kind of power in a rear wheel drive set up certainly keeps the boy racers planted firmly in your rear view. I own a 1989 Senator 24v.Only trouble I have is keeping traction on the back end in the wet. This problem was not cured, but improved by sticking a 50LB bag of Cement in the Boot. I have an aftermarket Cold Air Induction kit on mine plus a Superchip. Still wish I had an M reg Though!

It is simply the float that is stuck inside the Expansion Bottle. Tell you what I do whenever I change my Coolant and the damn light stays on, I simply give the bottle a good punch or three and the float becomes unstuck. I hope this helps Gov.
