Give a more in-depth review after you have had the car 10k or 20k miles. It will be nice to see what has happened!

Yeah...maybe -US- that did get stuck with a HORRIBLE Mexican made sedan do need a place to vent our anger about it... who wouldn't want to vent? My VW has had so many things go wrong with it... I lost count. So just b/c all of you that are fortunate to have a GERMAN made wagon have no problems, don't get frustrated with us b/c we have to have some place to vent and see if other people are having the same troubles with their VW as well.

I have a family member who does quality control for the Volkswagen facility in Mexico. I can tell you from our discussions that Volkwagon's coming out of the plant in Mexico, are sub par in comparison to the Volkswagen's produced in Germany.

I own a Jetta and I absolutely hate it.

Within months of my purchase, my car would just not start. I would have it towed in, and the mechanic would start it, and say there was nothing wrong. Four trips to the mechanic later, they diagnosed the problem, and one month later it happened again.

My friend was rolling up the rear passenger window one day and it just fell into the door.

A year later, I was driving in 15 degree weather, didn't touch the passenger window at all and it just fell into the door and had to drive on the interstate with my window down in freezing snowy weather.

A couple months ago my car would not go faster than 70 MPH. I took it to the mechanic... once again, he said there was nothing wrong with it.

Last week my car wouldn't shift (it's an automatic), and it made the loudest noise like my engine was going to blow up and wouldn't go faster than 40 MPH. Took it to the mechanic. He drove it around. He said it worked fine and they can't do anything about it.

My car is now for sale. So since some of you love VW's so much, please buy it for one of your teenage children. I hope they don't mind the crayon smell. I also hope you don't mind getting a call from them when they are away at college and can't get their car to start.

I think that people are voicing their opinions about hating Jetta's so much because they are trying to warn other people.

I purchased new and still own a 2002 Jetta GLS Wagon automatic transmission, window sticker says made in Germany.

Now have 60,000 miles on it and have no real problems to complain about. I felt I needed to write in something positive.

But the reviews I have been reading got me really scared - should I bail out and sell while everything is fine? I like to keep my cars until they rust out to their death, like I did with my last Honda civic hatchback. Repairs sometimes are cheaper than a buying a new car. I try to ride my bike as much as possible.

To be honest, I did have three recall items replaced - brack light relay, temperature sensor, air bag thingy. But hey, just because these cars look so cool, they are still just cars made by mear humans. I truly hope VW will help some of you less fortunate car owners.
