"Goes forever and if kept up, will never strand you"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I had to get it safetied for insurance, and all I had to do was replace one of the back shocks because it was leaking. I replaced both because they come in pairs.

If anything sounds funny or acts funny, I use my common sense and take it into the shop. I take it so a Volkswagen dealership just because I think these cars are quite a bit different than domestics, so I take it to the people who know them best.

General comments?

This car is hilarious! Sometimes when I start it, the horn honks, sometimes just a quick barely audible honk, and sometimes a long long honk. Most of the time there is no honk.

Sometimes I have trouble getting into the trunk.

Mostly I just LOVE this car. I have driven it a lot since I have had it and sometimes it does funny things, but it has never stranded me and I would not even think twice about taking it on a huge road trip. If you can keep up the little things on this car, I would definitely recommend buying it.

Oh, this was funny to me at first, but now I am used to it. Mine is a 3 speed automatic transmission. I had never even heard of that, but once I got used to it revving at 3000 rpm at 100 km/h, it was fine.

The gas mileage is really good in the city and good on the highway. Staying close to the speed limit on the highway helps a lot because of the small motor in this car.

I started putting premium gas in it this winter, and the car seems to LOVE it, so I think I will continue to do that. I get better mileage, so I think its worth it.

Lots of cabin space.

Lots of trunk space.

A+

I will have to agree with you. I have a 1990 2 door automatic, my horn honks sometimes when starting, I have had all the little things happen, but all in all, it still scoots along the road as if it owns it. I just loves the highway and all with 360,000 km on it. Pretty respectable for a gas engine.
