1999 Volkswagen Sharan Sport review from UK and Ireland
"Great MPV - get the Seat equivalent for better value"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Air Con got less and less effective, fixed under warranty.
One dealer jacked it it up on just two points which is too much weight - it crushed the sills (fixed FOC).
General comments?
The 1.8T (150hp) makes it a very nice drive, although consumes a lot of fuel (don't know MPG, but a tank lasts between 300 and 450 miles very much dependent how you drive it.
Love the MPV thing, 6, 5, 4, or just 2 seats - massive flat space with just the front two fitted.
Heated seats and front screen nice luxuries. No problems at all with plastic trim, no breakages or failures (2 kids), can not understand other reviews (we have a Seat Alhambra and the trim on that I fine also).
Metallic silver paint and alloys wheels continued to shine.
Needs cruise control (and remote radio control) - both were fitted on the cheaper Alhambra (which does 600+ mpg 1.9D).
