1989 Volvo 340 GL review from UK and Ireland
"A good solid, reliable and comfortable mode of transport"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Needed a new clutch soon after purchase; apart from that it has been on the button.
General comments?
Not bad for a run-around. Very comfortable interior (better than an Escort or Astra of the same era), especially the seats. Performance can only be described as geriatric, however once wound up it goes strongly. The car feels strong and is rust free. The ride could be better as it bounces on bumpy roads and the noise levels could be lower.
If it wasn't for the noise levels and ride I would definitely use it for longer journeys.
