1984 Volvo 740 GLE review from Denmark
"A comfortable car for long rides"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Exhaust pipes changed.
Manifold changed.
Air filter changed.
Brake parts changed.
Cooler changed.
Electrical cables fixed, and several electrical problems.
General comments?
It's only 6 months since I bought this car. But the car has already been towed to be repaired 4 times. But when the car works, it drives REALLY well.
It's a luxury car in Denmark which has the highest tax-rates, especially when we speak about cars. The Volvo 740 is a comfortable car for a low price. I don't understand why people buy newer, smaller and more expensive cars when you can have this big one with all stuff in electric and with automatic gears. Even the sunroof is electric driven.
The only "fault" is the fuel consumption! About 7 km per litre in mixed drive (city and highway).
