2013 Volvo S80 D4 Momentum 2.0 turbo diesel from Sweden

Summary:

Modern, handsome and reliable.

Faults:

Despite being a reliable car, it has certain problems such as failures in the mass airflow sensor that affect driving and turn on the "Check Engine" light. The ABS system light also came on, and I didn't really understand why.

During the first 20,000 kilometers after I bought it, it consumed too much oil.

The bushings on the front suspension control arm were worn out, causing an annoying noise. I had to replace it completely.

The air conditioning works very well, but a while ago it had problems cooling down quickly.

General Comments:

The car itself is excellent, with enviable material quality and worthy of a premium brand like Volvo.

The interior is luxurious and quiet, giving a first-class feel with good sound insulation, ideal for peaceful journeys.

Seats are very comfortable, especially the front ones, which provide good support, and there's ample and comfortable space in the rear seats.

Trunk is also quite practical, with 480 liters, and includes useful features such as dividers and hooks to secure the cargo.

I must again highlight the quality and design; the finishes are almost perfect, with fine materials and a carefully crafted interior design that exudes robustness and luxury. As for the functional details, it features laminated glass to reduce noise and improve safety, and also includes water-repellent side mirrors. Everything comes standard; nothing is optional.

Safety is paramount in this car. Its high-speed brakes are exceptionally efficient and responsive; with just a touch of the brake, the car responds flawlessly and maintains stability.

Safety innovation is also evident in the advanced, robustly constructed child seats.

Finally, I'm going to talk about the engine. It's a shame that Volvo has stopped making diesel engines for cars. The 2-liter D4 is not only reliable, but it also has ridiculously low fuel consumption for a large sedan; on the highway, fuel consumption is incredibly economical (I use it every day and I'm amazed).

It has incredible acceleration for overtaking, it's quiet, and I've never had any problems starting it from cold. It hardly feels like a diesel.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it was my best purchase to date; nowadays it's not easy to have a luxurious, high-quality car with low fuel consumption.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
