"Very impressed"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing whatsoever.

General comments?

Very impressed with the quality of the car, and the Mercedes-Benz ownership experience.

Fit and finish are beyond reproach and the car has proved to be pleasingly economical to run.

Considering that the car is shorter front to back than the new MINI, interior space is very generous, with good accommodation for four six-footers - this must surely be the roomiest choice in the city-car class.

The Autotronic CVT makes city driving a pleasure without compromising performance on the open road.

Purchase price is high, but so are residuals and this is one case of you definitely getting what you pay for - this is a small Mercedes, not a cheap Mercedes.

We own an A180 CDI as well as an A170 (both autotronic versions) and cannot praise these superb 'small executives' enough! The A180 is nearing the 25000 KM mark and absolutely nothing has gone wrong - same with the A170 with its 15000 km! These cars are completely rattle free (even on some of the less than perfect South African roads). Quality, fuel economy, comfort and reliabiltiy all rate very highly and changing brands away from the 'three-pointed-star' is no option.

The new A-Class is the car the old one should have been. Had the car launched all those years ago with this level of quality, it would have cleaned up in the compact executive segment. It really is the "Baby Benz" it always should have been.
