1984 Nissan Skyline from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Magnificent handling and comparable to current Fords and Holdens."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

When the car was first acquired it had a seized cam.

It also had a badly modified gearbox cross member.

The air flow meter recently expired.

Worn balljoints and front bushes.

Leaking power steering box.

Incorrect clutch pedal and hydraulic parts.

Faded metallic paint.

General comments?

Although it sounds like a bit of a lemon the car was given to me by a customer at work for nothing, absolute bargain.

It already had heavy duty lowered springs and gas shocks.

The interior is in mint condition, grey velour over grey vinyl although my three kids are taking their toll on it after one year.

The paint color is metallic silver.

This model skyline had independant rear suspension,it's a pity Nissan didn't use it in the Australian R31 as it makes a world of difference to the cars handling.

I had a 1984 Skyline. I did not find the handling as good as you. The car has horrible straight ahead. I found some reviews of this car in Wheels and other magazines, and they thought the same as me.

Please I ask "don't breathe a nasty word about the most wonderful car in the hole world. however I have problems with the airflow meter and it's cutting out whenever it gets warm. I never experience any other problems with the car whatsoever. is there a possibility that we can still find parts for the car. My email adres is: "sml@absamail.co.za... thank you.

This car was know for its bad "straight ahead", you are always twiddling with the steering wheel. I think the car has good grip, but. just bad steering.

I just brought a 1984 Nissan Skyline for $900 in pretty good condition with original rims. As I have never owned one before, I am unsure of the problems I may face. I have found the steering to be heavy, but apart from that she is a really good car. I could recommend this type of car to anyone.
