"Looks like a Toyota, drives like a Ferrari. Do it if you dare"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

What hasn't? Fusebox, diff, gearbox, aircon, clutch, brakes, turbos, valves, electrical system... etc...

General comments?

Great fun to drive, but you must have a second one as spare car.

Hello, I'm thinking of buying a 2.24 and I wonder how the handling and grip is. Thanks.

Bp from Istanbul.

I don't own this car, but when I was looking for a car of this type (I ended up with a DB7) I had the pleasure of an extended test drive.

The performance is crisp, and it handles well in the dry with great grip from the large rear tyres. This car however comes into its own in the mid ranges, shifting from 70mph to 90 mph the torque is quite amazing, as the gear ratios allow huge speed differences in 4th.

The noise from this car however does not impress, and although I liked it very much I was afraid of the residuals and the quality of the vehicle.

I own this car and I can tell you that:

1) almost every day you have to check for water /oil (just for prevention - you have to do it)

2) after starting the car every day you have to wait about 5 minutes. for the temp to rich 50 deg.

3) You have to be prepared to pay this car in order to keep it in perfect condition. It is a special car and is VERY expensive (i need a front shock (1) and it costs 1000 Euros).

4) The electric stuff of the car SUCKS. (but it's OK)

5) If you decide to buy it check out these (rear diff / gearbox / temperatures / noises in the engine compartment / the 2 turbos / exhausts / and the idle speed MUST be VEEEERY smooth... otherwise prepare for problems..)

6) if you are a tall guy (over 1.85cm) DO NOT BUY it.

The good ones:

1) You will own one of the 254 cars around the world.

2) Maserati...it's a thrill, it's sounds somehow...

3) Amazing Power (but you have to play a lot with the gearbox)

4) Amazing grip

5) Amazing leather/state of the art interior

6) I use it every day - yes you can use it as an every day car

7) Yes I have paid a LOT to keep it as perfect as it can be...

8) Yes if I sell it... i will easily buy another one again.. but keeping in mind all the above...

Closing...if you have extra money - will - and a spare car do not think. Just go and buy it.
