The fan switch only works on high. The gas cap door will not shut properly. In the cold weather the rear window wiper does not touch the window. the left turn signal has to be turned off manually. Small hole in exhaust system.
I was happy with the van till these things started to go wrong right after the warranty expired.
Good grief! Those are minor, picky problems. Try having to replace the stupid serpentine belt 6 times in 2 years because it keeps fraying, then breaking entirely... THEN complain.
They might seem like minor picky problems to you, but I get infuriated every time I have to turn off the turn signal or yell over the roar of the fan or realize I am wasting my time trying to clean the back window because the blade doesn't touch it!!! There is no reason other than slipshoddy craftsmanship and poor customer service. I am dodge, s worst salesman they can imagine. The dealer could have fixed these things for practically nothing and I would be singing them up one side and down the other.Stupid! Now I do just the opposite. I should not, NO ONE should have to put money into a vehicle that they have owned for a year and a half!!!
Well that's what happens to a van that you don't take care my van has 220000 miles and I have no problems at all I bought it new and it is a great van for the money.
I do agree that these problems are pretty minor compared to other reviews you read on this site where people's engines fall out the bottom of their cars in the fast lane on the interstate, but the guy is entitled to be annoyed at them, particularly with how outrageous car prices are these days. In all fairness too, I really do not think the owner of this van could cause those problems. I think I would still consider a Caravan if those were the only things going wrong with it. I do not think I am ready for a minivan just yet, but those days are lurking around the corner I am sure. They are great for what they are.

for an unbelievable account of one family's experience with this van.
I will not buy a Caravan again. This is my second Caravan, the first one leaked transmission fluid everyday for ten years. That one was a 1993. Now with a 2003 Grand Caravan I thought my troubles would be over, no of course not. This one intermittently will not allow you to put gas in it. Crazy, yes, but if you try to force the gas in it pours out and down the side of the vehicle. This happens about every 2500-3000 miles. Still no one can figure out the issue.
To the previous commenter, your transmission fluid leaking out was caused by poor maintenance, not the car itself.
I wonder how the previous commenter proposes to maintain gaskets or seals. If they start to leak, you replace them. There's no maintenance program.
