I cannot think of anything wrong with this car, as my first car its not the best, but it's a great wee car.
For a 1.0 performance can be quite surprising. Especially if your by yourself. Once you get passengers, you certainly notice the difference.
The seats are quite comfortable considering size of car. Steering wheel is too big for my liking though, I tend to drive with just one hand on because it feels daft.
This is my first car and I am very pleased with it. Its cheap, reliable and quite fun to drive. I have the 4 speed manual box and I find it quick in all gears, can do around 32mph in 1st.
Also, when I bought the car it had the standard stereo and one speaker. So I now have a CD player and 2 clarion speakers (100w each) in parcel shelf. Sounds Excellent.
UPDATE OF REVIEW ABOVE.
Well approaching 97,500 miles now, car has just been for its MOT. Passed. Just needed a new side light lense, new tyre on front and handbrake cable adjusting. For a 13 year old car, that is pretty good. Now I should have 12 months reliable motoring.
I am having a problem in the mornings just now though, it starts first time, but misfires a lot. I changed the spark plugs about a 1,000 miles ago and I'm wondering if its them or the leads. Can be quite scary when pulling out of junctions though and you have no power at all.
Also, the engine is becoming increasingly tappety. Its either because I have the rev the ass off it or its just getting low on oil. Think I better check. The handbook states that the suggested gearchanges are as follows 1st to 2nd at 24mph and 2nd to 3rd at 40mph, when I can get 32mph in 1st and 50 in 2nd. This car is seriously quick with just yourself in it and I have also read reviews about people saying it's a like a go kart, but I am not so sure. I do like to try, but I am scared the back end will just slip out.
Maybe ill try on I Ind estate one sunday morning.
UPDATE OF REVIEW.
Now, 97,700 miles on the clock. I have decided to sell beloved molly micra. She has been a great car to get me started on the road, as I am 17 it wasnt the best car for looks. So now, I have bought a Citroen Saxo 1.4 West Coast on a S reg with 55,000 miles in metallic red. Its got electric windows, remote central locking, alarm, immobiliser, power steering, 14" alloys (maybe 15") with the VTR bodykit. Really looks good for a 17 year old now, just shame about the insurance really.
The micra is a great car and will be missed, but its not a motorway or dual carriageway cruiser and its very noisy at speed. So its onwards and upwards from now, I will post a new review under the 1998 section of the Saxo if you wish to read.
The car when my brother first got it had the standard one speaker and radio only. As soon as he got me insured that was soon changed, a CD tuner and 2 speakers were soon installed, but it needs some speakers in the parcel shelf.
As has been said in a previous comment driving with one hand is very tempting because the steering wheel is that big, but very comfortable.
Not many complaints about it except when I go round a roundabout in second gear I can kick the back end out not bad for showboating, but in rush hour traffic it is not that fun. I only have one recollection of having to top up the oil and replace a head lamp bulb. It is very reliable and can be very fun to drive.
I love it and to be honest I do not think I will sell it. It is just too much fun.

What a car! firstly I passed my driving test about 8 weeks ago. I was so nervous about getting a car. As I wanted something safe and sound, I went to the car auctions. So even riskier; well, that's where I set my eyes on my beautiful l reg micra. I adored it when I saw it. It was just what I had been looking for. I was so suprised when I got her home. A perfect engine, sweet as a nut and very nippy. The speed, so cheap to run, got her mot coming up in june. So far, I am pretty confident it will be OK if she lasts. For me, I will never want to get rid of my Nissan. What a legend you have created!
