Paint is pealing and the seats are fading.
Hyundai did a poor job and (looks like this has been a problem for quite awhile), at painting their cars.
All cars I have owned have withstood bird droppings and according to Hyundai, their paint doesn't withstand bird dropping and the droppings will eat through the paint if the car is not cleaned within hours of the droppings.
Also they claimed that all lower level cars will have the dye wear off from the seats, when getting in and out of the car. I reported these problems to the BBB and went to Arbitration and lost to Hyundai. They refuse to fix the paint peelings or the seat.
Yes, I agree to a point on the paint, but I still feel if you get the bird dropping off within 24 hours and keep a good wax on your car it'll be fine. Not Maintaining any paint on any car - stains will happen. Mostly bird dropping and love bugs (which are 100 times worse-In Florida-) Just clean often, that's the key.
In regards to the "paint problem" you experience with the bird droppings eating through the paint, this happens with EVERY vehicle if you leave it on... I would know, I am the Lot Manager at a local used car dealership, as well as having worked at the local Chevrolet and Chrysler dealerships, and I have seen this happen many times with many different makes of vehicle when my maintenance crew hasn't cleaned up the droppings right away (we are very close to the beach and as a result have many gulls etc. flying over), the most recent one was a 2002 Ford Escape, several spots on the roof and hood had been eaten through as a result of droppings being left on the car for a day or two. It is YOUR responsibility to maintain your vehicle, and this includes exterior care. You have no one to blame, but yourself if you allowed the paint to be damaged due to neglect.
I've never had the problem with the bird droppings, but I WOULD NEVER BUY ONE OF THESE PIECE OF CRAP cars again.
I bought it brand new. They fix the flaking FAKE leather seat twice in 6 months, then tell me after that it's my fault it's not the leather. If it's my fault why did you fix it in the first place?
Second the clutch is 1500 dollars to fix and I have to fix that after 30,000 miles when it blew to shreds, and they also have a class action law suit against them for that. They say they cover it until it breaks, then its your problem.
E brake's been fixed 3 times.
I have the car in the shop at least once every 2 months minimum.
It's a nice looking car, I'll give them that. If you want a car to park in your garage and look at, buy it, but if you want a good car to drive, don't do it, it was the worst mistake I've ever made. I still owe 10000 on it and it's only worth 5500, so pretty much it's all around a PIECE OF CRAP CAR to own unless you're rich and have nothing better to put your money into.
I just bought a 1988 Power Ram truck so i can park this car. I am done putting money in it, and this truck runs way better and I only paid 450 for it.
Save the headache and stay away from Hyundai.
