I was confusing to choose between Vios & Sentra. Now I think I will choose Vios because of the engine.
Thank you very much.
HI guys,
I bought a Sentral 1.6A last month.. Overall.. I'm a bit disappointed with its acceleration. I tried my parent's Altis.. Seems like it's advisable to buy an Altis even though its price is higher by about 15k. With Altis, you get better interior, and the exterior look is more elegent..
Besides the look, the material used, ABS, disc brake for rear wheel.. sound system, lower fuel comsuption... generally everything is better.
Only two set backs are price and cornering.. well, if I am given second chance, I would still buy a Sentra... because of money constraints.. haha.
I just want to confirm, are you comparing your sentra 1.6 with Altis 1.6 or 1.8 in terms of power and all that because I am considering a second hand Altis 1.6 for year 2003-2004. I thought of buying altis 1.8 because of the interior look, but have to admit my budget constraint. How about the fuel consumption because I heard altis 1.6 use more fuel compared to 1.8 because of its body. So, I need your comment which one is a good buy (power and fuel). Thank you.
I planning to get a new Nissan Sentra 1.6sg Manual.
A friend of mine told me that the Manual has more fuel consumption then the Auto. Is it really true?
What is you peoples advise? Can I go for Manual?
If about the Auto then I know how the condition is, but I never tried the Manual.
Which is better in the wise of fuel saving and more powerful ? Auto or Manual ?
Hi all, I've got myself a 2003/2004 Sentra 1.6SG-L 2 months ago at reasonable price. Generally, Altis, Civic and Sentra are of the same class because of built and cc. Before settling down on a Sentra, I was confused like most of the friends here. Civic second hand price is high, For instance RM61-65k for a 2001 model (1.7l). So with the price and year, I gave up. As for Altis 1.6l, the body weight is no doubt high because it's a grand car. As such, most people would comment that the fuel consumption (fc) is higher than car of it's class. As for Sentra VTC, the ride has been smooth especially on H/W. It's underpower for uphill ride. Styles and design are not bad especially with sporty rims and small spoiler. FC is reasonable at RM0.17/0.18litre. Also, this car needs to warm up for 2-3 minutes in the morning before the engine smoothen. The more you run the car, the more seasoned it would be... Just like Genting taxi:) Lastly, very reliable engine. Try to use semi/full synthetic oil for better performance and engine life.
Hi Sentra lovers from Malaysia.
Apparently there is going to be 2007 sentra model going to be launched. There is some pics and review at http://www.luk4all.com.my/Blog/NissanSentra2007.asp.
With the introduction of the new Honda Civic middle of the year, it has been reported to sell like a hot "pisang goreng" (local fried babana cake) compare to its "peers" competitors from Toyota Altis and Nissan Sentra. This is later follow by Toyota (hopefully this is not a rumor) in bringing in the new Altis (know as Corolla outside Malaysia) early next year to stay head-to-head challenge with Civic.
Hi.
I'm not a pro in Japanese cars.. all this time I've been driving a malaysian car. Now I plan to buy a City (IDSI / VTEC), Vios or a 1.6 sentra. I'm quite clear on the review's I have read bout the Vios and City. Tell me clearly, Is the Nissan Sentra 1.6 (A) a good car, in the sense of performance and fuel effciency. And also how about the maintenance of the car, is it expensive??
Thks and regards.. I really will appreciate a good and honest review.
First of all, Honda City, Toyota Vios and Nissan Sentra 1.6 (A) are good cars with their own strengths...
In terms of performance and fuel consumption, I will go for Honda City.
In terms of safety, I will go for Nissan Sentra 1.6 (A).
In terms of look, I will go for Toyota Vios and Nissan Sentra.
In terms of roomy interior, then Nissan Sentra 1.6 (A) and Honda City.
Maintenance is depends on the driver. Assume the maintenance cost almost the same for these 3 cars.
From my point of view, Nissan Sentra is more high class because it is 1.6 and not 1.5 class.
I want all the readers to know that OverDrive (O/D) in Nissan Sentra is totally opposite of the usual O/D...This is confirmed because my uncle has this car...
For Nissan Sentra, if you wish to have more power for sudden acceleration then you have to do is to turn on the O/D...
Other thing is that, Toyota Vios does has noisier engine compare to Nissan Sentra and Honda City...
No you're quite the opposite. O/D on means the lights on the dashboard are off. And O/D is enabled all the time. When you ened to climb the hill or something then you let the light come on... which means O/D is OFF. So this means O/D is good for fuel consumption. Off-ing it would be otherwise.
I've been using Sentra 1.6 since 2002. The performance is Good, in fact everything is OK, but it just doesn't have the WOW factor.. Sad to say, my Sentra's suspension falls on the extremely soft side. It has been like that the day I collected it from the showroom in Klang. Every time I drove over a hump even at the speed of 60 - 70 km/h, it bottom down! By the way, it happens only when there are rear passenger. Change all the absorber twice, but the problems still exist. Is it just me or is there anyone else experiencing the same problem?? Now, what disappointed me the most, is when I consulted the Nissan's Service Advisor, they just say, it's like that. What is happening to Nissan these days, are they employing those incompetent employee of PROTON??
Soft absorber is local made. Use JDM absorber is harder or try Monroe absorber.
Hello guys out there.
How is the latest 2008 Nissan Sentra Sport? Is this worth the money? I am actually planning to go for Sentra Sport, after comparing latest VIOS, CITY. I stil think this is more solid car at the range of 80-90K RM.
Please advise.
Just before I start... can I comment on the nissan service? I am planning to sell off my sentra soon.
Maintenance wise, is sentra more costly compare to altis? I am planning to buy a second hand car with a budget about 60k. Which one would you guys recommend?
