You should use better quality gas, and from time to time you should drive it faster. Go to some freeway and rev the machine.
They are very sensitive to bad gasoline. I had the same problem, and it was sorted out after some higher grade gasoline was pumped in, and after I drove it harder for a few days.

Did you have any joy fixing your problem, if so, please let me know on lea.debbie@yahoo.co.uk because I've just purchased a Carisma Equippe GDi auto on a 2000 reg, and the same problem is happening too us.
