When you buy a Lexus, do you honestly remotely care paying on a multi car insurance price? Or fuel. Some like low miles vs a worn out eyesore.

Or you can buy 2 of the same Buick Lacrosse. You know, "spread the wear"...

YES! When I buy old cars, I generally pay cash, avoiding car payments. I don't have to pay for full coverage, so the insurance on all three is either less, or equal to paying full coverage on one (plus the car payment I'd have). The registration in my state for older cars is inexpensive. If I pay 3K for a car, my initial registration is around $260 or so. The following year, it will only be about $50, going down each year. So, I have three cars that run flawlessly, having paid less money than for ONE car new. I will change out as needed, but still cost WAY below just having one car with payments, plus full coverage, plus the $1500+ for initial registration/tax. Been doing it this way for a couple decades now, and still have no desire to buy new. We bought new only twice, and just doesn't work for rural America. Just for real numbers - I pay a bit over $400 per month on insurance for FIVE vehicles (My wife's Escalade and LS460L; My son's F150; My LS430 and LS400 (me and the wife kinda share the Escalade). Registration TOTAL for all vehicles per year = around $370! See why I do it this way?
