That’s why I said middle class. The middle class wants to give the appearance of wealth. Below middle class can’t even give that appearance. Above middle class is driving a paid off beater or (paid for in cash) something more expensive than a 77k miles used Maserati.

By far the best car you will ever drive. You are not just driving the car, you are a part of it.
The older ones are just as expensive as the new ones in many cases.
You don't buy these cars worrying about high maintenance costs. When your warranty is up and you can't extend, you simply sell.
The upside is when you buy one you won't want to drive anything else. Highly polished perfection if you have covered all of your future overhead. One of the best things to own and you can't take with you.

Lease/loan people trying to look like millionaires (that are not millionaires) are the worst. I never understood it. In my younger years I actually liked driving a clunker - never had to worry about it being stolen, could park anywhere. And I never cared what others thought.
Nowadays I hate taking a sports car anywhere. Have to worry about getting the leather marked or the wheels curbed, or the underside scrapped as they sit too low. Still prefer my late 1990's Toyota Camry as a daily driver. Still a respectable car by those that know them, and does not try to pretend to be anything else.

Totally agree, a lot of people fake it. On the flip side of that, I know people with money that regularly drive a Ford Focus or something similar. It just makes sense, no point taking the Ferrari to the mall every week just to get scratched.
