Who says you necessarily have a $40K credit card debt just because you decided to buy a used Rolls? People decide what brings quality to their life. If a bench seat on an old Toyota pickup is your thing, great. But if what you want is the craftsmanship that comes with a Rolls - regardless of age - and you can afford to buy it and keep it (if you use it as a daily driver then you'll need to be a person of means to maintain it commensurate to mileage travelled, but as a Sunday car, may be totally feasible) which increases the quality of your life, what's wrong with that? A Casio will tell the same time as a Rolex, but if you are one who appreciates the latter's mechanical movement and how the entire watch was designed and put together including detailing of the crown, and you need not buy it new, go for it!

Maybe you need a raise. You assume we have car loans. Everything is dollars and cents. I borrowed money in my 30s to buy 3 rental properties. Spent money to make money. Am sure you do not need a reminder where that headed. Yes that was debt. Today it’s no debt positive rentals and cars paid off each time feeling no pain. There’s a lot of smart people on here. Looking up, not settling for just anything on 4 wheels.
