The LT1 seems like a better option than the North Star to put in the 64 Deville. Those North Star engines had a lot of issues. The original 64 engine was probably more reliable.

The LS1 came out 1997. It’s a small dimension V8 used in all kinds of swaps. So could be.

Yes and I spoke with the owner during my 11th year at the same car show. He said he put in a GM V8 engine. Purists probably hate doing so, but it’s likely more reliable and less complex.
