The best analogy in ‘95 especially to a FWD manual car would be a Nissan Maxima, not a Camry or Accord. Especially in that era, those were fun cars. I’d argue despite being FWD, the manual and a decently preppy V6 made those more fun to drive than 90% of mid-line cars made in the past 10 years.

Most people haven't driven a variety of cars. And even if they have, often don't get to drive them on roads that reveal how good or bad the car's handling, gearing or performance is. Those living in vast urban environments (which is where you find these sorts of cars) will drive maybe 90% of the time on flat, smooth, often straight roads peppered with traffic lights; higher speed motorway drives are still fairly ideal because of the design of the roadway. Still, it's their review, their experience with the car in their turf.
