1998 GMC Jimmy SLT review from North America
"I'm happy I sold my 1998 GMC Jimmy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Where do I start? Idler Arms and Pitman Arms FR 58,383 miles, new alternator 117,661, new battery 118,269, Stabilizer bar bushing 119,350, Upper & Lower Ball Joints 119,544, Hub bearing assy 124,798, Vacuum Servo Pod for 4WD 127,752, Front pads, Caliper and rotors 133368, Gas pump 136,438, Water Pump 137,080, New back breaks, AC leak and back brake pad caliper and Rotor142,365. The steering makes a horrible sound every now and then and no one can figure that out. Between these repairs and your normal expected tune ups my receipt file for repairs on this vehicle is almost a half inch thick and I’m afraid to count up the costs because I should be happy I just sold it on Monday for $2400. I had to drop the price because the 4WD suddenly stopped working and I just need to unload this money pit. If someone ever offered to gave you a 1998 GMC Jimmy, don’t accept it, because it will cost you a lot of money. A lot of money.
General comments?
Except for it being a lemon and a money pit, this is a great vehicle.
Just when you think you fixed everything something goes wrong, again, again, and again.
I'm happy I sold my 1998 GMC Jimmy.
