2002 Chevrolet Impala LS review from North America
"Great performance, mileage, ride, very spacious, pleasure to own"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
ISS, steering shaft develops clunk every 50000km or so, just needs grease. 80 dollar fix.
Heated seat element failed.
Power sunroof was acting up and developed a leak.
Rotors developed a shake, needed turned down. Must be a cheap part. I will replace when brakes wear out for the first time (have not in 65000 km)
All these problems were fixed under warranty. Not an issue to this day.
General comments?
The car rides very well, a great balance between sporty and cushy.
I have the demo model and it is jammed packed with features, everything I would want.
Engine has ran perfectly, has enough power for the average person. It will leave 10 feet of rubber with both tires with traction control off.
Plenty of interior room and I'm 6'3 225 lbs.
Trunk is very big.
The car looks very nice to me, sporty and elegant.
The armrest on the door is quite hard, could use some padding.
Mileage is great. I get (in Canadian gallons) 25-30 city, and 38-44 highway (90kph) average is 35. I accelerate to 3000rpm and cruise easy on the highway.
That's Toyota Camry mileage on the highway.
I really enjoy my 2002 impala LS.
