2006 Renault Megane CC review from UK and Ireland
"Best value (and best looking, in my opinion) folding hard-top"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
No faults, though roof was adjusted at 1st service to cure a slight rattle.
General comments?
Very pleased with dual functionality of the car. Roof up or down it's a pleasure to drive.
2.0 turbo engine means it's quite nippy with very good mid-range power for overtaking.
It's not a sports car so I don't drive it like one, but it will travel at twice the speed limit should you be so foolish!
Genuine 4 seater, though rear seats a bit restrictive. Huge boot with roof up. Half the space when down, but with just two on board we can use the back seats for luggage if required.
Early versions reportedly had some roof problems though I think that these have mostly been sorted.
I have had no problems at all.
If Renault put their 3.0 engine or even the hatchback 225 bhp unit, it would be perfect.
