2001 GMC Yukon xl review from North America
"Big dependable and expensive to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Despite numerous problems and expenses, I love this yank tank, yes it has the piston slap, the monster 8.1 litre gas motor and 3/4 ton chassis, the gas mileage is consistently 10mpg I have a neon sign that glows atop my truck that says "large carbon foot print here"
anti lock brakes crapped out around 75K to costly to repair, rear window wiper also seized along with both power rear window motors, my tow button no longer works I have replace all 4 ride control sensors because it is an SLT with auto ride. big deal, I'm on my 4th set of tires, 3rd set of brakes and 3rd transmission the 1st one was rebuilt under warranty. ettanae broke off years ago along with many little plastic parts god knows where they re attach.
Going on it's 8th year I have 154K miles on her, she looks rides good after $2,500 in suspension and brake work. still has lots of power and burns very little oil.
The resale isn't good enough to sell, but I admit I'm looking for a second daily driver that gets over 20mpg.
General comments?
Big and nimble hauls everything with lots of room to spare the grand daddy of SUV's fast stops good and has 53 cup holders.
