1992 Pontiac Grand Prix LE review from North America
"A powerful, comfortable, great buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator blew at about 190,000. Not bad, and I was told that my after market installed remote starter is what blew the alternator.
Replaced tires at around 200,000.
That is about it!!!
General comments?
This was a great car to both own, and drive. The 3.1L V6 provided ample power, both off the line, and on the highway.
The cabin is very big, giving you lots of room.
Great gauge package (Ex. tach, speedo, battery, temp).
Great "Pontiac glow" on the gauge set. It is a bright orangish - reddish. Very beautiful. And, only on Pontiac's.
Car handles good also.
In June of 2001, I was in an accident with my Grand Prix. I was at a dead stop, and a Chevy Venture van traveling at about 40 miles per hour, ran into the back of me. On most cars, the entire back end would have collapsed, but not on a Grand Prix!!! The bumper was crushed in, but other than structural damage in the trunk, the rest of the car was fine!!!
