1988 Porsche 928 S4 review from Netherlands
"Wonderful sports car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car the fuel computer was bad. I used my "discount" to replace the fuel computer 1000$.
The power steering leaked a bit. I had it rebuilt at 150.000km 600$.
The transmission started to slip at 160.000 km, which had to be rebuild at a cost of 2500$. All other things are normal maintenance.
The interior is in top condition, and the exterior is still very good.
General comments?
This car is one big joy to me. The driving is superb, fast, sleek, stable, and safe. The exhaust roars with a deep sound when the V8 starts supplying the 320 hp. The Auto-Transmission conceils the enormous power and acceleration capabilities, but it shows quickly that a lot of other cars are seriously outclassed by this German sports GT.
The car is now 14 years old, so some things need to be taken care of. You should consider this as a hobby, and not as daily transportation if you drive a lot.
The 928s4 is my nr. one and has never let me down yet. I think it is still VERY good looking.
