1975 Mitsubishi Galant GC review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good cheap runabout, with some work can become a quick car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Carburettor on old 1600 motor needed a new throttle spring. Would get stuck on full throttle although im sure this isnt a common fault.
General comments?
Major modifications have been performed on the car by myself these being the 2lt motor and 5spd box from a sigma.
Car hooks up very well and can be steered with the throttle.
Rather slow cars as standard, definatly go for a manual as autos are just too slow.
Very quiet car at 60ks/h you can't hear anything, but slight wind noise.
Brakes are non-power assisted and fade easily, can be upgraded very easily with sigma front struts.
Very cheap car to modify as parts from sigmas, colts, L300 vans/utes and lancers are usually interchangeable.
Very large engine bay for a small car, can fit a wide variety of engines.
Car handling is very neutral, and with very little fuel in the tank is when it handles best, it just hangs on!
Prone to rust in doors, and its not a car I would wanna put sideways into a pole/tree as the doors feel very flimsy.
