1988 Renault 5 GTS review from Netherlands

"Fantastic engine, just needs a new chassis once in a while"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Renewed wheelbaring left-front, twice!

Burnt front disk-brakes.

Cold-start problems, probably moist.

Rust, rust, rust. especially around windscreen front and rear.

I had to do some welding at the sub-chassis.

Paint is fainting.

There is no interval on the windscreenwipers.

Reliable engine for a French make (I drove it to 250.000 km!!!)

General comments?

terrific driving.

Keen engine, very good on high revs.

Great bucket-seats.

Great limited edition.
