1994 Jaguar XJ6 Sport review from UK and Ireland
"I love it!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Oil pressure gauge and oil light failed, giving a worrying "no oil pressure" indication at 130 MPH (on the autobahn of course. This was obviously a gauge failure (oil pressure gauge and warning light are linked), apart from that, not a thing. Not bad for a car that has now done 117,000 miles.
General comments?
What a tool!! I got rid of my spectacularly unreliable (but very fast) Mitsi 300 GTO for £7000.00 and bought this beauty instead. In British Racing Green it is an absolutely stunning car and has the performance to match. I would rate it as fast as the GTO (once its got above the relatively sluggish slog to 30 MPH) but it looks a million dollars.
The only down side is that I bought the model without traction control and in the wet (being rear wheel drive and auto) this beast will punish you if you floor it. I have had it sideways twice now, not through bad driving, simply through a bit of over acceleration when the road is slippy. There are a lot of horses under that big nose and they will bite if you don't respect them.
