1987 Chevrolet Cavalier CL review from North America
"I will own this car until my dying day"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bought with cracked radiator tank... this is common due to it being plastic.
Oil pressure reads totally unreliable in digital dash.
Lock-up solenoid in transmission went at 220,000 miles.
Drivers door hinge had to be replaced at 200k miles.
Paint is TERRIBLE. (original)
General comments?
I bought this car for $250 off a friend, and I have never gotten so much for so little money. I have been using the car as a delivery vehicle and cannot believe the abuse it has withstood. Despite her extremely high mileage, this car still screams tires and wins every race she has been challenged to. Off-the-line response and speed is amazing, but the high-revving engine doesn't allow for much top-end performance. The interior is very comfortable and easy on the eyes. I have 2 other cars, and my Z24 has the coldest blowing A/C of all 3. I would recommend this car to anyone based on her durability, performance, and longevity of the engine.
