1987 Dodge Ramcharger LE 150 review from North America
"Built like a tank!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The seals in the steering gear box let go at 115,000 miles and needed to be replaced.
There were some minor electrical problems with the power windows and door locks which required replacing the motor on the drivers window.
2 fuel pumps, the first at 50,000 miles, the second at 80,000 miles.
The motor is tired and burns a little oil.
No other major problems.
General comments?
I have driven this truck daily since the day my parents brought it home new. I was 16 years old then.
For 15 years it has been my main source of transportation.
It is extremely reliable, very tough, and is a sure footed workhorse off-road or in the snow.
Unfortunately, time is slowing taking it's toll and the vehicle struggles each year to pass California emissions testing. This may be the last year for me and my Ramcharger : (
