2003 Holden Astra Convertible review from Australia and New Zealand
"What took so long to get this car on the market???"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing...
General comments?
It combines elegant design with the exciting driving dynamics Astra is famous for. The car that will make you fall in love with driving, all over again, every time you drive it.
It has a very sharp look that typically draws interest from the opposite sex, so that doesn't hurt either.
Solid build for a convertible, torquey engine, good ride quality, high equipment levels and competitive price.
I think the Astra is one of the better small cars on the market, and seems strange now driving basically the same car as I used to own, but in a convertible version. Holden have improved the Astra by replacing its metal lid with a canvas one, thus messing with the body rigidity, increasing the weight it carries and more than doubling the price.
But not to worry, as I now work for holden, I know for a fact that the convertible is ver strong and will not fall apart!!! It also has an amazingly looooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg list of safety features!!!
