2002 Nissan Altima S review from North America
"Don't waste your money!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This question would be better, and easier to answer, if it read: What hasn't gone wrong with the car?
The interior is just awful!
In the first 18,000 miles of the car:
The first time the backseat was lowered, the material behind the seat tore.
One back window stuck in the up position. The motor burned out.
The material behind both front seats starting bubbling, and separating. Everything started coming unglued. At first I thought this might be because of sun, or heat. However, I park my car in a garage at home and work.
The "boot" on my standard stick shift keeps tearing away.
Very loud squeaking under hood during cold start-ups.
General comments?
I have always purchased Honda Accords. My last Honda Accord, with routine scheduled normal maintenance done, I put 130,000 miles on it without any problems. Sadly, the car was totaled in a car accident when I reached 130,000 miles. Just after the accident, I was able to start the car and drive it out of the flow of traffic, leaving my radiator at the accident point. Amazing car!!
I was totally thrilled to see the new Nissan Altima and was on my way to the dealership the next day.
I've owned my 2002 Nissan Altima for about a year now, and can't wait to get rid of it. I'm so disappointed. Maybe Honda has spoiled me, or maybe Nissan just makes some really bad cars.
Honda Accord,,,,, sorry I ever let you down!!
