1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic review from North America
"An embarassment to the name Caprice"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Caprice is a well built, reliable car. No repairs were required (other than regular maintenance) during the short time I owned the car.
General comments?
The round style 1991-96 Caprice was an embarassment and insult to the name Caprice. The round, bulbous body made parking and maneuvering a chore. The enormous dashboard made the car seem 10 times larger than it was. The ride was to soft and squishy to actually be comfortable. Dangerously sloppy handling. The tiny V8 gave mediocre performance and terrible gas mileage. The digital speedometer was impossible to read with the lights on during the day. My 1989 Caprice was faster, handled better, gave better mileage and was much easier to operate. Chevy ruined the Caprice name with these "Bubble cars." Try to find a low mileage 1977-90 model for a great driving experience.
