1989 Nissan Bluebird Super Select review from Australia and New Zealand
"I would pay around the NZ$4000-5000 mark for such a model, in good running order"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
very
General comments?
It feels on the 'heavy' side for a mid-range car, which is just as well for the power-steering.
Having only just very recently acquired it, it was in need of some necessary maintenance and repairs.
The body was in very good order - no visible rust nor panel damage, except for the front bumper, which will probably need replacing. A corner-lamp (and possibly the reflector), will also need replacing.
A 1.8L Automatic is probably a little on the light side for this vehicle. A 2L would have been ideal.
It runs a little "sluggishly", but an oil change and maybe a "tweak" here and there, should prove beneficial.
Also, the fan belt may need adjusting or replacement to eradicate the noise made by the power-steering.
It is a comfortable car with very adequate room, both front and rear. Boot space is optimal, while the engine is tidy.
