1986 Honda CRX 1.6i-16 review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This car has now done 123k miles. I have had it for about 18 months and all I have done is have a new clutch fitted and an alarm/immobiliser.
General comments?
What a hoot! This was the '80s equivalent of the Ford Puma, the car for which the words "pocket rocket" were invented. Plus I can get all my weekly shopping for the family in the back by dropping the rear "seats". No worries on reliability but it's starting to feel a bit sloppy. Runs on unleaded without any changes. I have it serviced twice a year by a local ex-Honda mechanic as dealers are generally useless (use synthetic oil). A bit of rust here and there but that was to be expected from an '80s Japanese car. Why can't manufacturers make something like this today? (Apart from Ford and I don't like their design!)
