2001 Volkswagen Gol Plus 1.0 16V 4-door review from Brazil
"This car is a joke - But I'm not laughing!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear wiper motor came loose. Simple fix. Didn't bother the dealer.
No reversing lights - fault traced to faulty connector onto switch in engine compartment. Tin foil cured it. Couldn't afford new set of leads.
Speakers cutting out - fault denied by dealer, but fine when speakers replaced out of guarantee.
Trim fell off door. The dealer actually admitted that there was a problem!! Wow! Done under Guarantee.
Numerous creaks and rattles from the dash.
3 new tyres, new battery, new rear breaks, new exhaust, new wiper blades and rear wheel bearings.
Finally, the radio cassette player chews up all my tapes.
General comments?
This car, it's been in the dealer so often, I'm thinking of asking for a loyalty card. I could do with a bit of discount on the numerous bills it's clocking up.
I remember, that once, the dealer mechanics laughing when they saw my car getting into the garage, towed for the... let me see... I don't know, what time, but the car have been in the garage, so many times, that became a joke between the mechanics.
In fact, The car is a joke, joke to drive, joke to own, joke to be seen in!
