1990 Mazda MX5 Miata review from North America
"Best vehicle I've ever had, and probably ever will"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear disk brakes wear wedge shaped.
Many dents due to soft metal on body.
Spark plug wire shorted on engine block.
Catalytic convertor had to be replaced.
General comments?
The Rear disc brakes have been replaced at least four times due to wearing wedge shaped...The service dept. had no explanation for it, but there was an equal wear on both sides. The one shoe would have little wear, but the one's that move were full thickness on one end, and down to the metal on the other. (Would appreciate any comments on this, as the problem is still ongoing.)
One just has to look at the body to put a dent in it.
This is a great vehicle, and I will not part with it. Every year, I get the Ziebart rust protection done, and there is no rust anywhere...I'm sorry to see Mazda come out with the new Miata without the pop-up headlights...They look like a Neon from the front.
Vehicle handle great at high speed, and tight corners.
