1992 Nissan 200SX review from UK and Ireland
"A very practical and affordable intercontinental ballistic missile"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rear wiper and washer have just packed-up (looks like a fuse problem - I hope....).
Front pads have just been replaced but, oddly, the back didn't need doing.
That's it!
General comments?
I am on my 2nd 200SX and have had no problems at all with either one.
My current car was 7 years' old on purchase and has been 100% reliable.
The car is VERY fast (forget your MR2s, Celicas, MGFs etc. as they are just not in the same league). The 200 pulls like a train all the way up to top speed and has the brakes and chassis to go with it.
You can remain relatively anonymous (ie the car doesn't shout it's arrival from 500 yards away like an MGF or MR2 would) and that, combined with the sheer performance, makes for a very pleasing driving experience.
The car is a dream to drive on the motorway; powerful enough to lose Vectra man in the outside lane with ease and not too conspicuous. Round town or in traffic the drive is just as easy.
One last comment on practicality - your weekly Tesco shop WILL fit into the boot as it is deceptively long. In fact, my 1st 200's boot was so spacious that someone actually managed to fit most of a Vauxhall Nova in mine at a set of traffic lights and, as I am still here to tell the tale, I can most certainly vouch for the car's build quality and safety.
