1999 Subaru Liberty GX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Nice car to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Discovered a fluid leak, trace it to the gearbox, the washer directly behind the sump plug was an oval shape. Possibly cause by a previous service technician.
This was replaced and the problem was solved.
General comments?
The engine oil has just been replaced with 10W-30 viscosity
I have noticed that on cold startup, the engine sound is a lot noisier then when at operating temperature. It sounds like a diesel engine, no engine rattles just sounds rough. Is this normal? Could it be the hydraulic lifters, the engine sounds fine when at the operating temperature.
Referring to the operator's handbook the Key less entry system there is no mention of an external light flash to indicate the doors have been locked/unlocked.
