2003 Renault Clio 1.4 dynamique 5dr review from UK and Ireland
"Don't ever buy a renault"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Terrible sunroof rattle
Very poor after sales service
General comments?
When I first purchased the car I was quite happy with it. It looked good and on paper was reasonably quick for its insurance group.
The car drives well, it is a bit noisy but this is expected from a car of this size. The handling is impressive and as it has electric power steering the response from the wheel is good. The interior is cheap and feels like a budget car but accomodates well for four to five people on short trips.
Unfortunalty the more I drive the car the more I realise how poor the car really is.
The build quality is just terrible and the service from both renault UK and the dealership after sale is disgusting. I would strongly advise no one to purchase a clio from my experience with it.
I owned the car for less than a year and have had to endure a loud rattle from the sunroof. After more than five attempt at the dealers to solve the problem i have been told that it is a universal fault with the car and that nothing can be done. If anyone knew of this fault before the purchase of the car then no clios would be sold.
After making contact with Renault UK I have told that they can do very little and that I am now left with a poor built car.
My advise to others considering purchasing the clio is that they think again and opt for a car that is more realiable and much better built
